Teacher Self-Care 101

Sylvie UrijahBy Sylvie UrijahMarch 31, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Teachers often feel like they need to be doubly accomplished at everything they do, which underscores the importance of setting attainable goals. If you stretch yourself too far in all your roles, you might find yourself heading into burnout too quickly. Instead, focus your efforts on a few reasonable goals, and simplify your workload for everything else. This isn’t to say you should ever sell yourself short on a personal or professional level. Rather, focus on what is fixable or able to be improved. For example, you might build a teacher toolbox full of resources that you can use to reduce the time spent making curriculum. That way, you have more room in your schedule to help students in need. Though being a teacher is such a rewarding profession, the stress of the workload often causes problems for teachers over the years. Self-care is an important part of sustaining the ability to keep providing for your students. It’s vital to learn that you can set boundaries without neglecting yourself or your students. In fact, taking care of yourself is the best way to ensure a better future for both you and your students. To better practice self-care throughout the school year, be sure to follow the tips found within the infographic highlighted alongside this post.
